Our Story

Founded to give students the flexibility to pursue their passions, recover from challenges, or simply learn in a way that works for them, Alta Independent serves students across the U.S. and internationally. We combine rigorous academics with personalized support so every student can succeed — on their terms.

1965 – School Founded

1989 – Partnership programs begin with clubs and organizations.

1992 – Adult diploma program introduced.

1995 – Credit capture expanded to therapeutic/recovery programs.
